Entry for July 15, 2008 Update on Maggie
I saw little Maggie yesterday. She has a hot pink cast on her leg for now. Actually, her and Susan go back to the surgeon today for her check-up. I tell you what she is really getting around good just using 3 legs. She is just so sweet and getting realy spoiled as a result of this. She and Sunny both are already spoiled rotten but Maggie is getting a double dose right now. She deserves it though.

Entry for July 6, 2008 for Little Maggie
photo
Hey Halie,

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. Just wanted to keep you up to date with how Sunny and Maggie are doing. They were both doing great until Maggie had a little accident while in my care for the holiday weekend. I had gone to the gym for an hour an upon my return both of the girls were excited to see me. Naturally, I picked them both up giving them hugs and them giving me kisses. Sunny and Maggie are pros at jumping on and off of couches and beds. Especially that little Maggie. With her long legs she just glides on and off of furniture. I was heading into my bedroom and they decided to jump off the back of my loveseat to join me in my room. It was then I heard Maggie screaming to the top of her little lungs. I noticed her holding her right leg up and I thought maybe she had hurt one of her nails. However, once I picked her up I realized she had broken her leg. It was pretty disgusting, I cannot lie. I ran out to the car with her and off to the emergency vet we sped. I called Susan to tell her what had happened to the baby. She came back from her weekend camping trip and met me there. Maggie was sedated while x-rays were done to see what the damage was. She had broken her tibia and her ulna in two. She was able to return home yesterday afternoon with a lamp shade on her head, a cast on her leg and some good ole doggy morphine. Susan is taking her back to the vet tomorrow morning to see the orthopedic surgeon. Yep, the poor little girl has to have surgery on her leg. My lord, what a freak accident. We will keep you posted on her progress. She is walking a little bit w/ her cast but it is not easy. Needless to say her and Sunny will not be able to run around and play for a little while :( Sunny was very sad when I broke the news to her. Attached are a few pictures of Maggie after her visit yesterday. If you notice she is still doped up from the sedation. Please keep little Maggie in your thoughts and prayers.

Update on Sandy Leigh 6/24/08
Hi Stephanie,

Just thought I would send an update on Sandy Leigh.  We have had her now for about 7 months and have really enjoyed her.  She is such a precious and sweet dog.  She is a perfect match for me and Tj.  I just love getting her to come and sit with us on the couch.  Her and Nebula get along great!  They are best buddies.  Sandy pretends like she doesn't need Nebula's company but when she is away from her she looks for her whereabouts.  Since i have been out of school (for the summer :)) they have really enjoyed having me around alot more.  Sandy is really clingy sometimes but I like it for the most part.  Nebula is the free spirit of the family she loves exploring everything.  We take them everywhere except church with us.  People think that they are our children.  WE just took them to the Savannah river for a walk today and let them play in the water.  Sandy really enjoyed splashing around but Nebula was a little more cautious.  Sandy and Nebula have really became close with my parents rotweiller; we take them over there to play with her often.  My sister sewed them matching outfits.  I took some pictures but they were blurry so I will take some more and send them.  they have just been so enjoyable and have been loved.  I know it was sad for you to give her up but she is treated like royalty here with us and we really care for her and treat her with tons of love.  She and Nebula are really happy dogs.

Entry for June 15, 2008
Hi Haile,
I'm sorry I haven't checked in before now. I have been busier than usual this past month. Gabriel/Caleb is doing very well. I took him to the vet and they said he is perfectly healthy. I also got him heartguard and flea/tick/parasite drops for the next few months. I will take pics on my camera later today and I will send them to you. My mom loves him to death and calls him her "little Prince". We have been working on the potty training, but thank God I have tile floors!  :)  We also have been working on the crate training, but unless we stop letting him sleep in our beds he'll never be totally used to it. :)

Take care and Have a Blessed Day,
Cheris

Update on Tobias June 1, 2008

Hi!

Thanks so much for the pictures, they turned out great. I wanted to let you know how great Tobias is doing. He slept almost the entire way to Valdosta, waking only to stretch and go back to sleep. We did not yet have a crate for him so he slept with us--did great!! He slept throught the night with no accidents. He's been great today as well, normal eating, drinking, and pottying. It is amazing how quickly he is adapting and learning his surroundings; already knowing where his water is kept:) We got a vinyl "crate" and he did fine while we were out to church, and is using as well for a quiet escape when he's had enough.

We are just so happy to have him be part of our family. Thank you for the opportunity.

Ya'll have taught him a lot and have made the transition here easier than expected.

Talk with you soon,

Amy Jack
