| Courtesy * Pet Listing Due to the over whelming number of phone calls FURever Friends Humane Society receives from individuals that request help finding a new home for their pets this service is was created. FURever Friends Humane Society is a non-profit organization, which relies solely on donations from the public. We do not have a facility to house our animals awaiting adoption; they are kept in foster homes. Which greatly reduces the number of animals we are able to help at any one given time. This service is in place in hopes that more pets can find permanent homes before being taken to area shelters where their fates are unknown. PROCESS ~Courtesy * Pet Listing Applications can be downloaded here or requested by the following: 1. Sending an email to fureverfriend@windstream.net in the subject line please include CPL Application. 2. Sending a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope to FURever Friends Humane Society P. O. Box 2276 Gray, GA 31032. *There is a $20.00 Minimum donation to FURever Friends Humane Society required for each application. ~Once your submitted application has been approved for the listing and donation received your pet will be listed on a month to month basis as a Courtesy * Listing on Petfinder.com and 1-800-save a pet. In some cases we are able to contact Breed specific rescue groups who might be able to help. ~Digital photos should be emailed of the pet to fureverfriend@windstrem.net ***Please include a face shot, a whole body side shot and a sitting shot. ~Potential adopters should initially contact you by email preferably, then if a meeting is necessary one can be arranged when it is convenient for both parties. FURever Friends Humane Society does not interview potential adopters prior to your meeting; they have direct contact with you. Any and all decisions made about your pet’s adoption are solely your decision. ~All pets will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption! NO EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE. It is the responsibility of the adopter to receive proof of vaccination including rabies. ~Agreements about adoption are between the current caregiver and new owner (adopter). ~The listings will be updated monthly. You will be sent an email around the end of each month regarding the status of your pet. If no reply is received within 14 days it will be assumed that your pet has found a home and will be removed from the listing. If this occurs due to your failure to return the email in a timely manner the listing will not be reinstated without another $20.00 application fee. ~FURever Friends Humane Society should be notified by email as soon as your pet finds a new home so their listing can be updated. The pets listed under Courtesy * Pet Listing Section of FURever Friends Humane Society, Inc. are not a part of nor should be interpreted to be a part of the organization. These listings are being provided strictly as a courtesy * to applicants whom have contacted FURever Friends Humane Society about help placing a companion animal. ALL of the pets listed as “Courtesy * Pet Listing” are available from their current caregiver and are not in any type of foster home provided by FURever Friends Humane Society. The adoption of these pets will be under the terms their current caregiver and potential adopter arranges. FURever Friends Humane Society makes no claims to the accuracy of any information contained in the Courtesy * Pet Listing Section of FURever Friends Humane Society. The information in this section is based solely from the application the current caregiver has submitted. It is the responsibility of the current caregiver to provide the proper health records and the potential adopter to verify any of the caregiver’s claims. FURever Friends Humane Society is in no way responsible for providing any documentation to potential adopter. Recommendations for Current Caregivers and Potential Adopters Caregivers should be completely honest when completing the Courtesy * Pet Listing Application information. Being forthright about any information relevant to the pet will be very beneficial in helping potential adopters make an informative decision. Keep in mind WHY you are listing this pet in the first place. Unfortunately most pets are relinquished from their current owners because of lack of breed knowledge, impulse decision-making or taking a pet because it was “free to a good home”. Potential adopters should research breeds of interest to make sure they fit their lifestyle. Potential adopters should request to see Health records showing proof of current vaccination, to include rabies (It is Georgia Law), Spay/Neuter Certificate and proof of heartworm status and preventative use. A written agreement should be entered upon between the current caregiver and the adopter.
