| Woofstock 2011 A "Rally to Rescue", Renew, Rejoice and Remember |
In May 2005, FURever Friends Humane Society, Inc., hosted our first public
fundraising event, May Day- Hear our Cries. The following year we moved
the event to the latter part of the year and held our first annual Woofstock
celebration in Macon. Since 2006 we have hosted Woofstock with much
success. We are extremely excited about Woofstock 2011. We will be moving
the event back to Gray, hosting it at the Jones County Fairgrounds. Also this
year we will host our event in conjunction with "Imagine a Cure" hosted by
the Georgia Chapter of The Cure Starts Now Foundation.
Woofstock 2011, A "Rally to Rescue", Renew, Rejoice and Remember is a day
of family fun with vendors (both pet and non pet related), dog
demonstrations, all day music, kids zone, food, contests, Blessing of the
Animals and much more. The support and generosity of the community has
made it awoofing success every year. Each year the event has grown in size
and attendee's. This year our goal is to exceed the 500 mark on attendee's.
Last year the event received coverage in the local newspapers, periodicals,
local news channels (13,41 and 24) and online news sites. Local rescue groups
found forever homes for their pets awaiting adoptions as well as raised funds
on their own. FURever Friends raised much needed funds to support our pets
in foster care along with monies that we allocated to our Spay/Neuter
Assistance Program.
